Joovy Bicycoo Balance Bike Review-Giveaway!


It is spring so it is time to bring out all the outdoor equipment for my kiddos. I have to tell you that Hayley’s favorite part of summer is trying to ride her bike, however, she does not have the balance to be able to adequately do this.  She ends up getting frustrated which then causes meltdown centry.  So, I was beyond excited when I found out Joovy made an incredible bicycoo that would be pave the way to learning how to ride a bike.

 

So, what is  a Joovy Bicycoo?- Plain and simple, it is the most exciting balance bike on the market, that is a top choice for all your children’s riding needs. It is an extremely well made, durable balanced bike recommended for children age 3 and above. There are many options for balance bikes but not too many that will hold up as incredible as the Joovy Bicycoo does. The frame is aluminum so it is just as strong as all of the high end bikes. It is also extremely lightweight. Hayley has absolutely no trouble picking up the bike herself and bringing it outside when we are ready to start riding. Another advantage of being lightweight is is much easier for the children to control the steers. I know Hayley had a fit when she tried to turn the handle bars on her regular bike we got her. She got mad and frustrated that she did not have the strength to maneuver her bike. With the Joovy balance bike being so lightweight, it was a cinch for her to steer with the handle bars.

 

Another great thing (oh there are so many things I love about the Joovy bicycoo balance bike) is the tires are made of a very durable rubber rather than the cheaper plastic tires found on many bikes these days. By having these rubber tires, it allows for a very smooth ride. Some of the other features of the Joovy balance bike, is it has a height adjustable seat for your child that can be changed as your child gets older. Along with being adjustable, the seat is extremely comfortable so your kids bums won’t get tired after riding.  There is also a hand brake for the rear tire that is easily accesible.

You might ask why a balance bike rather than a training bike? The answer is simple: With the Joovy balance bike you are actually learning the #1 facet to riding a bike: balance. Hayley can pedal but she does not have the balance. By riding a training bike, she is still not learning the balance aspect.  Allowing children to learn the idea of balance is key to building their confidence, as well as their skills, to learning to ride a regular two-wheeler. Once balance is learned,  transitioning to a big bike will never be easier.

I am happy to say Hayley absolutely loves her Joovy Bicycoo balance bike. Each day, she is getting better and better with balance. Not only am I seeing this balancing helping her riding, she is also super confident now that she could do it by herself. She always was so frustrated she could never do the bike herself. She got mad when I tried to push her, but equally mad when she could’t do it. With the Joovy balance bike, she gets so excited and screams, “Mommy, I could do it myself. Look at what a big girl I am”. She is also started  going from the riding position on the bike with her legs on the floor, to now beginning to lift her legs and balancing  this way. It is really so awesome to watch! For those of you who might be interested in how the set up is, to put together the Joovy, I will tell you that I did it all by myself- that should be enough to tell you how easy it is to set up!  I give this product an A+ and a definite summer item for you kids.

    Who do I want to win this bike for? ALL 3 of my kids!! I have an 8 year old who can’t balance on his bike, I have a 6 year old who refused to ride his bike, even with training wheels because he doesn’t get the “balance” idea, and I have my daughter coming up soon who is going to want to start riding bikes soon.

    after reading your article , i realized my daughter was having the same problem with the bike i bought her, was too hard to maneuver. i saw these bikes before but thought they were harder to ride , after reading what u wrote you convinces me to try this instead!

    I would love to give this to my special needs son. He just turned 6 and is just trying to understand the whole concept of riding a bike. We got him the one with the bar on the back but it gets in the way alot and really doesn’t make him do it himself we find we are pushing him more. I would love to get him the blue one.
