I will fully admit, I suffer from cold sores. I have suffered from cold sores since I have been a young girl and will tell you that they are downright painful! I noticed abreva a few years ago after I had just healed a cold sore and put it in the back of my mind in case I had another one. Thankfully I haven’t but I always think of it when I see a friend with one. I love that you can use it multiple times per day. I can’t stand medicine that you just have to suffer through the waiting time to get more relief!

I have had cold sores since I was a teenager and they have decreased in frequency as I have become older. However, I still get them a few times a year and I always keep Abreva with me! I put it on when I start to feel a “tingle” and keep applying it. I usually still get the sore for at least a week, but it keeps it from getting large and/or swollen. (When I was younger my lip/mouth would swell to twice its size. I looked like I’d been hit in the face!) So grateful for Abreva!!

I haven’t tried it yet as I rarely get cold sores. Whether I would try it or not would depend on what they were using as a painkiller since I am allergic to benzocaine/novacaine which is what is generally used as a painkiller in mouth and dental pain products.

I have not tried Abreva. A big benefit is that it blocks the spread of the virus to healthy cells.
I have never tried it but I love that it is the only FDA approved OTC medicine to help treat and shorten the time you have a cold sore.
cold sores are the worst! I like that Abreva takes away the pain – they are so annoying and helps it to clear up fast.
Have not tried, but good to know it is deep penetrating and effective

I used to get cold sores a lot in middle school, but I have never tried Abreva. I love that it’s proven to heal cold sores faster.
I was not aware it kept the cold sore from reading. I always thought it was just to numb the pain.

I haven’t tried it yet. I had a little tube of something prescribed to me years ago that I was using. I get cold sores about once a year. Glad to hear that this works. I personally have never needed to use Abreva, however I have bought it for my daughter on several occasions. It is the only thing that worked and worked fast to get rid of her cold sores and symptoms. Both my sisters use Abreva and it is their only brand they purchase. If I ever need it, I will use it….no other brand has worked for our family! Thanks Abreva….
