This is a sponsorship with Highlights Hidden Pictures for National Puzzle Day. We are huge fans of Highlights and all the above are my own opinions.
My family loves all puzzles! It has been a long standing family tradition to get together on Friday nights after school activities and errands to get together and work on our latest project. Even when our youngest was a toddler, she took to doing the basic baby puzzles like a pro, so, when I say we all love them I really mean it. Lately we’ve been trying to challenge ourselves with larger puzzles that have smaller pieces rather than the larger ones but my kiddos will still do the chunky floor models, as well, if they can’t wait for everyone to get together on Friday’s. Highlights Hidden Pictures is always a fantastic option!
With National Puzzle Day on January 29th, I wanted to let my readers know of our personal love for puzzles as well as those that contain hidden pictures. You know the kind, reminiscent of those found in the old Highlights magazines that our doctors used to keep in the waiting rooms when we were small fry ourselves. As a parent in my 30’s, I love that Highlights magazine is still around and that they even have them for younger audiences now too! Talk about a blast from the past.
Highlights magazine is one of the oldest publications still being run, next to Where’s Waldo (who is celebrating his 72nd birthday, by the way), and to give those who aren’t familiar with the magazine a bit of insight about it, I’ve got some interesting facts to share:
- Since the magazine released its Hidden Picture Puzzles years ago, over 100 different variations of bananas have been hidden for adults and children alike.
- Since being released in 1942, over 615 artists have worked with the magazine to create nearly 10,000 hidden picture puzzles. That’s 72 years worth of artistic talent and months spent at a time on each individual puzzle! Highlights Hidden Pictures is such a fantastic option.
