We have a new marketplace right in my hometown of East Greenwich, RI and it is conveniently a gas station, right off the highway of I95. This month Neon’s Marketplace opened and I had the chance to attend the media event yesterday to support the grand opening of the new Neon.
Neon’s Marketplace is located at 1149 Division Street in East Greenwich which used to be home to the old 1149 restaurant. With markets already open in Providence, Warwick, Portsmouth, Middletown and Seekonk, Neon’s newest location in East Greenwich features a premium café with customized items like espresso drinks and bean-to-cup coffee, hot express breakfast sandwiches, made to order brick oven pizza and hot and cold freshly-made grinders. In addition to partnering with local vendors to offer products such as Warwick Ice Cream and Downeast Coffee, they also have a variety of pre-packaged goods, healthy food selections and .98 cent coffee, fountain and frozen drink for those who may need to grab something quick while on the go!
Before the grand opening, I actually visited to fill up my car with gas and stop by to get a cup of coffee. I was of course leary to get coffee at a new location (I am a coffee snob) but let me tell you this coffee is really, really good and completely affordable at under $1.50 for a large cup. They have all your fixers in their coffee bar and rotating, freshly brewed coffee everyday. If you like a more fancy latte, they have a speciality coffee menu that you they will make to your liking. I have not tried the lattes or speciality coffees yet, but they have a wonderful selection.
I also did try three of the breakfast and lunch items that they make fresh when you order. I tried the avocado toast, which was a large piece of toast with mashed avocados and eggs spread on time. It was AMAZING! The deli sandwich I ordered (turkey and cheese) was also hearty and yummy! And for a special treat the pizza and cookies are simply divine.
When you are in East Greenwich or the surrounding towns, come stop by Neon’s Marketplace for all your food, accessories, gas, and much more needs! You can thank me later!
