Roku Streaming Stick Review and Giveaway! No more need for Cable! #NatGeoKids

Screen Shot 2014-07-15 at 9.30.04 AMI am a huge TV Junkie- like HUGE! Especially now that I have a newborn and am more confined in my house, I am constantly trying to find something to watch on TV. While I love having cable, it is sometimes really hard to find my favorite shows at the times I want to watch them. That is why I love watching my shows on streaming media such as Netflix and Amazon Prime- Hello, Downton Abbey! For this reason, I was so excited to receive the Roku Streaming Stick from National Geographic which includes great channels such as the two mentioned above and my beloved National Geographic.

For the best TV experience, the entire household can use the included remote to access the sleek Roku user interface with shortcuts to movies, TV shows, news, the Roku Channel Store, Roku Search and more.     I would love to win this cuz I don’t have cable just the local free channels .. Which is about 30 of them but I’ve been deprived of the SciFi channel.. Animal planet .. NatGeo and more for over four years now.. Unless I’m at my grandmas and she lives about 90 min away. Although tv has gotten kinda ridiculous with no documentaries on discovery anymore just cop shows or hoarders and things like pawn stars.. No music on MTV unless you wake up at 6am .. Most channels are not what they once were.. But with this stick it seems like I would be able to get these channels and many more with shows that actually teach something.. Don’t get me wrong I love reality TV .. But you know what I mean TV is not what it used to be.. I’m a huge Netflix fan and to be able to stream on my TV instead of watching on my phone would be amazing .. My daughter would flip

    We hadn’t had cable for 2 years. We just got it a month ago and the bill is astronomical and we don’t even get the channels we really want (they cost $20 more a month!) We’re cancelling as soon as our month is up and just keeping the internet. So, I’d love to try Roku. Maybe we could watch what we want.

    I have the Ruko Base and I love it but when I want to watch it in my bedroom vs my living room I have to transfer it which becomes a pain. I love how this is a USB plug in.

    I’m really telling my age here, but I can remember when you didn’t pay for any TV channels. Well times have definitely changed. The Cable Bill is usually higher than the cell phone bill. Winning this Roku could definitely help save you money.
