Halo Pottery Barn Sleep Sack Review-Giveaway!

Our founder Bill Schmid and his wife lost their first born to SIDS. From this tragedy, HALO and its mission were born. For over 15 years we’ve been educating parents about safe sleep practices and a portion of every sale goes to First Candle/SIDS Alliance and The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.  Since 2005, the American Academy of Pediatrics has suggested the use of wearable blankets.  Today, HALO SleepSack wearable blankets are the #1 trusted choice of hospitals, and are used nationwide to help babies sleep safely from the start.
We were first introduced to Halo through our hospital in 2009. Our hospital participates in providing sleep sacks for the babies, and we were lucky enough to be able to keep our’s. We didn’t use it too much because I didn’t understand the benefits of why sleep sacks are such a good idea.
With the birth of our third daughter in February 2012, we were again introduced to Halo in our hospital. This time however, it was much different. Our baby girl depended on the sleep sack for comfort and to feel safe.
Halo is currently in over 800 hospitals nationwide because of their Halo Safer Way To Sleep Initiative, which provides hospitals with SleepSack Swaddles to give one to the parents for their precious bundle of joy. Because of this great idea, hospitals can educate parents of the risks of blankets and why swaddling can be so beneficial to a child. They also have a video on their website for safe sleep tips!

*please note, not all hospitals allow swaddles to go home*

These HALO SleepSack designs are part of the new fall line at Pottery Barn Kids and coordinate with Pottery Barn Kids’ bedding, and can be embroidered with baby’s name. All the cotton Sleep Sacks are 100% organic and so soft to the touch. They’re light weight but give the piece of mind that your child is comfortable and safe instead of using a blanket.

All the Sleep Sacks comes in two sizes, small and medium.
Small ranges 0-6 months and 10-18 lbs.
Medium ranges 6-12 months 16-24 lbs.

My favorite thing about these Sleep Sacks is the inverted zipper. This is ideal for those late night changes with a sleeping baby because you only need to unzip a little.

Macyn is currently 7 months old and 14lbs. I chose the Medium to ensure that it would fit her all winter long, but it’s very long right now. She only takes up have the length of the sack right now, but it’ll be a great fit in a few months when its cold outside.

These are machine washable with your normal clothing, and you can personalize your child’s name for an additional $7

Retail Value for the organic sacks is $39.50
Here are some additional images for the other Sleep Sacks available for purchase via Pottery Barn Kids

I first heard of them when my son was born and we received one from the hospital, I then purchased another one because he loved them!

I have used Halo Sleep sacks and absolutley love these. They are a great wearable blanket that keeps the baby warm and you don’t have to worry about the baby kicking the blanket off!
