Every single year over the summer, the 5 Pezza family members head to Hersheypark and Hershey Lodge for their annual summer vacation. This was year 10 for us and we simply LOVE Hersheypark! If you ask my husband, he will allows say it is his favorite family vacation memories and I have to agree with them.
This year we stayed for three nights at the Hershey Lodge, which is simply awesome. They have great dining options (open late after the park closes), coffee shops, pools, indoor water park, delicious Martini bar, spacious rooms, and so much more! We started out 10 years ago staying for 2 nights but we extended it in the last few years to three nights because there is just so much to do!
On our first night, we usually go the park THREE hours before close. If you have tickets to the park the next day, and are staying on Hershey property, you can readily go for completely FREE using your passes for the next day. We take advantage of this as we hit up some of the big rides like Candymonium and Great Bear. This year Taylor was tall enough, so she was able to ride all the big rides with us. We stayed at the park till it closed and then headed back the next day! For our final day, we went to Chocolate World where we love making our own chocolate, going on the Hershey ride, seeing an interactive Hershey movie, and doing the Hershey tasting. Then it was time for our last day and we had breakfast in the Hershey Lodge and headed home. It was a 10/10 trip!
People ask me our favorite rides at Hersheypark so I figured I list some so it can help you all out!
1. Candymonium
Candymonium is one of Hersheypark’s biggest and most exciting roller coasters. With huge hills, fast turns, and lots of airtime, it’s perfect for thrill-seekers. We love this ride, but warning the lines can be long. Use the ability to go in at night to ride this with a short line!
2. Skyrush
If you love intense roller coasters, Skyrush is a must-ride. It has a massive drop and incredibly fast twists and turns that make it one of the most thrilling rides in the park. This is Zane’s favorite ride in the park and it is one of the first he goes on every single time.
3. Storm Runner
Storm Runner is unlike most roller coasters because it launches you from 0 to 75 miles per hour in just a few seconds! It’s fast, exciting, and packed with twists and loops. I LOVE LOVE this ride. It is my favorite ride in the park! We waited two hours for this one, so we will need to time it better next time LOL!
4. Great Bear
Great Bear is a suspended looping coaster that takes you through twists, turns, and inversions. The unique track layout makes it feel like you’re flying through the park. This is my second favorite ride in the park. If you do not like going upside down, avoid this ride!
5. Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit is famous for its huge 97-degree drop! After that first drop, you’ll experience loops, twists, and plenty of exciting moments throughout the ride. I did not ride this one this past time but I have in the past, and it is a fan favorite!
6. Jolly Rancher Remix
Jolly Rancher Remix is a colorful, exciting coaster with plenty of twists and turns. It’s a great choice if you want something thrilling and different from the other coasters. This ride is right near Storm Runner so you can hit both at the same time.

If you are looking for a fantastic vacation or staycation, definitely check out Hersheypark and The Hershey Lodge. Start your own memories and traditions at this delicious place.
