I thought this movie was very good. I will always be partial to the original but I think they took an original storyline and it worked well in this movie. The animation on this movie was visually stunning, the acting strong, and the music worked extremely well in this movie. The songs were not written by Lin-Manuel Miranda on this one but most of the songs were really on point. There were a few disjointed numbers but overall it worked well.
We saw the movie as a family of 5 and my kids loved it. 2/3 of the kiddos thought this movie was better than the first, but my husband, myself, and one other kid thought the original was better. That being said it was a great family friendly movie with great messaging.
Moana 2 is now available at Digital retailers, and will be released on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD March 18.
