Home Invasions

I live in a very safe area. I always was under the mentality that nothing would happen to my house.. It is too safe of a neighborhood to be robbed! Have you had the same thoughts about your neighborhood and your home? I rarely set an alarm and left my car open because I knew I lived in a safe neighborhood and knew I could never get robbed.  Do you ever think a door to door scam or home invasion could happen to you? Probably not, right!

My mentality all changed when I found out that my neighboring development had three robberies occur in broad daylight one summer day around 8AM. The robbers thought they were going into an empty house, as they watched the adults leave for work. What they did not know is there still was a 13 year old in the house getting ready for school. Needless to say, they did attempt a home invasion and succeeded until the 13 year old heard them. The 13 year old proceeded to barricade herself in her room and call 9-1-1. When the police got there, the robbers fled but took with them over $2,000 of items. An hour later another house in that same neighborhood was robbed. An hour after that, the third and final home of the day was robbed.

No one would ever suspect something like that happening in an area where we live. We have one of the safest towns in the state, yet this still happened. It taught me a big lesson that day that I can’t trust our house to secure itself. My husband and I decided to put in a state of the art home alarm system to make sure this never happens to us. We installed it that day after I heard about the robberies and never looked back. I feel so much more safe and comfortable in my house now.  We have had one false alarm since and the police instantly rushed to our house. I feel so safe now!

There are so many home security systems out there but I highly suggest you do make yourself safe. In this day and age, you can never be too sure. While the initial investment might cost you, just think about the return on your investment. It is logical to make sure you are safe!
