I am a huge TV Junkie- like HUGE! Especially now that I have a newborn and am more confined in my house, I am constantly trying to find something to watch on TV. While I love having cable, it is sometimes really hard to find my favorite shows at the times I want to watch them. That is why I love watching my shows on streaming media such as Netflix and Amazon Prime- Hello, Downton Abbey! For this reason, I was so excited to receive the Roku Streaming Stick from National Geographic which includes great channels such as the two mentioned above and my beloved National Geographic.
The Roku® Streaming Stick™ (HDMI® version) makes it easy to enjoy the best selection of streaming entertainment on TV. Featuring a compact design pioneered by Roku, the Roku Streaming Stick plugs discreetly into the HDMI port for a streamlined look that’s ideal for wall-mounted TVs. It is very easy to plug the stick into your TV and get ready to start streaming anything you want, at any time of the day. All you will need to do is register your password /email using the Roku Stick for your favorite channels such as Netflix and National Geographic. In no time at all, you will be streaming the best of TV without ever touching your cable box.
For the best TV experience, the entire household can use the included remote to access the sleek Roku user interface with shortcuts to movies, TV shows, news, the Roku Channel Store, Roku Search and more. Those who desire a mobile experience can use their smartphone or tablet (along with the free and newly updated Roku apps for Android and iOS devices) to browse and select channels to stream. Users can also cast Netflix, YouTube and personal media from their mobile device to their TV. Over time Roku will add additional mobile features such as the ability to cast content from a computer to the TV.
Once plugged in, the Roku Streaming Stick lets consumers start streaming from more than 1,500 channels of movies, TV episodes, music, news, sports, kids’ shows and free programming – more channels and genres than any other TV streaming device – and all in up to 1080p HD video. We have it set up that we receive our favorite channels including You Tube and National Geographic at the push of a button. The kids can readily operate it so they can watch their favorite shows too! The best part is the stick is so small that your kids will not even know it there, or attempt to pull it out. It is only .5 inches high and 1.1 inches wide.
National Geographic has their own amazing channel on the Roku Streaming Stick that is educational, fun, and interesting. You will need to check that out if you buy the Roku Streaming Stick.
The Roku Streaming Stick is available for $49.99 and is available in retail stores and from Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Target.com, Walmart.com and Roku.com.
